Save Our Eco Village Off grid with their own food, animals, power, water and waste disposal - a West Wales eco- community develops businesses to save their homes, their future. Saving Our Ecovillage follows the community of Brithdir Mawr near Newport, Pembrokeshire for 6 months - winter solstice 2019 to summer solstice 2020 - in their daily lives and their attempt to raise the cash to buy their own homes. The owner will put the farmhouse, converted cowshed, detached eco houses and 85 acres of land on the open market with a price tag of £1 million unless the residents can raise the money to buy him out. As well as developing businesses, the residents have to work the land, care for the chickens, goats, sheep and geese and learn Welsh to integrate with the community. They juggle the demands of part time jobs, three are keyworker carers in the pandemic, while looking after children and running volunteer weeks. Part of the Our Lives series of remarkable stories from around the UK, the film also follows the change from an individualistic city lifestyle to rural community life, where everything is decided as a group.
